Seed Crackers

Healthy Seed Crackers

I love to serve with a homemade guacamole.
Prep Time 30 minutes
Cook Time 4 hours

Ingredients

  • 200 g flaxseed
  • 100 g mixed seeds of choice - sunflower, pumpkin, chia and sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • ½ tsp paprika or spice of choice
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Place the flaxseeds in bowl, cover with water, soak for a few hours or overnight
  • Place the seed mix in anothere bowl and also soak (same time as flaxseeds)
  • Drain and rinse the seed mix and add to the flaxseeds
  • Add fennel seeds and salt
  • Spread this combined mixture thinly on baking paper on oven trays (or just spray oven trays with a little coconut oil instead)
  • Sprinkle with paprika
  • Pop into preheated oven (low 80°C), slow bake for a couple hours (it’s like you are dehydrating them), half way through turn over
  • Cook long enough to adequately dehydrate the mixture. Should take 3-4 hours but depends on your oven. You want crunchy, snappy crackers, no moisture
  • Cool
  • Break into crackers and keep in an airtight container
